MEDIATION METHODS
Mediation is an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) process in which a trained neutral mediator facilitates communication between parties and, without deciding the issues or imposing a solution on the parties, enables them to understand and to reach a mutually agreeable resolution to their dispute.
This is called Facilitative Mediation.
The other method which is more frequently utilized by Retired Judge Dispute Resolution Services is Evaluative Mediation. An evaluative mediator assists the parties in reaching resolution by pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of their cases.
